Late afternoon, when the sun was hanging low enough that even the brightest windows of the surface level of the Ministry wouldn't harm Aurora, that was when she preferred to take her stroll through the halls or to get a refreshment or two before retreating to her department again for the next several hours. However, this time, she had her mind set on more than just a kitchenette or stall of snacks.
Memories from another time still floated through her mind: The flashes of magic, the broaches, the cheering, the severing of humanity. The Department of Mysteries held so much, but so much of it collections from others and from documents recovered. When things were missing, they were missing simply because of irreparable memory or artifacts they didn't know existed to be considered missing at all. If for any other political reasons another department doesn't help hers fill in the gaps, negotiations had to be made.
Level 5. Aurora couldn't remember the last time she had been there... Perhaps it was during her orientation in what feels like ages and ages ago? She couldn't remember much about it. And the faces had certainly changed some since then. Aurora hated roaming where she frequents least in the Ministry; she didn't like others to worry about her presence there at all. Even the most professional, well-trained wizards were timid creatures.
The Bulgarian Ambassador's office felt like such a strange place to be. There were antiquities from Eastern Europe covering the walls and decorative surfaces—all polished to perfection. Aurora took a small look around to admire what was there before heading towards the desk where an assistant was working diligently. She tried to hide her teeth, though she couldn't do much about her complexion or eyes. "Excuse me," Aurora said in her gentlest tone. "Might I know where I can find some information for the Department of Mysteries on German history?"
