About Us:

The Order of Merlin (OoM) is an AU site based in the Harry Potter universe 8 years after the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. We're over 17 years old and still going strong with our small and cozy community! We are a dedicated roleplay site full of adults who like to play make-believe.

OoM is a plot-free roleplay site where players can focus on personal stories rather than an overarching one. All that we ask is that characters play consistent to the year of the site.

Set in the year 2006, everyone felt like recovery from the Second Wizarding War was possible. Just as they were picking up the pieces, another battle ensued nearly taking the British corner of the wizarding world with it. That was the Battle for the Blood Moon. Ever since its resolve, wizarding life is what you'd expect: students attending Hogwarts, professionals in the Ministry, shopkeepers working in the streets, and everyone trying to move on and live peaceably. Trauma bubbles under the surface, grief and mourning is in the air, but the world is calmer and quieter now. Even while the Ministry tries to find Greyback and finally put the latest assault to rest.

Levitation charms on broomsticks is a serious thing. Quality standards need to be met, otherwise, the brooms are unsafe for transportation needs. You wouldn't want your broom to go forward at an extreme speed like a rollercoaster and crash you into the side of a brick wall like a bug...

The Portkey office uses items that are basically considered garbage, to lessen the chance that Muggles will pick it up. So... The result winds up being that the office REEKS with the smell of garbage. Instructors are also available to help teach younger wizards how to properly apparate, to lower the risk of splinching themselves or others.
