imagine, if you will, a world destroyed by a virus. the majority of the human species was completely wiped out. now, only two types of people roam the streets: those who were immune, and those who survived. the immune haven't changed, except to harden to a world they are not used to--limited power, gangs ruling the city because the government is in shambles, having to grow food and raise animals and hunt to survive--and those who survived with gifts never seen before. some breathe fire. some turn invisible. others have powers we can't imagine. the humans see the gifted as a threat, and vice versa. there's no choice but to live fast, because we're all dying young.
