The Bell Towers are two towers that rise over the main entrance to the greenhouses of Hogwarts Castle. Between the two towers are a set of double wooden doors which lead to the Bell Tower entrance hall.

Astronomy is held every Wednesday night at midnight for first years and all classes are held in the Tower.
The top of this tower where observation sessions are held for Astronomy is more or less directly above the front entrance of the castle; the top of the tower has a parapet. A steep spiral staircase leads to the top of the tower, with a door (which has an iron ring as a handle) leading out onto the ramparts, which are crenelated. To get from the foot of the Astronomy Tower's staircase to the staircase leading to the entrance hall, one must pass through two corridors before rounding the corner to see the staircase leading (eventually) to the Entrance Hall. |

The entrance to the Headmistress' office at Hogwarts is behind a statue of a gargoyle on the seventh floor. When given the proper password, the gargoyle will leap aside, and the wall behind it will split in two to reveal a spiral stone staircase that moves like an escalator. However, the office can be sealed so that none can enter save the rightful Headmaster, and also can be sealed so that someone already inside cannot leave without the Head's permission.
When granted the right password, the oak door opens into a large and beautiful circular room with windows, at least one of which faces east with a view of some of the mountains surrounding the castle. The windows also afford a view of the Quidditch pitch. By day the office is sunlit, while at night it is illuminated by candlelight and lamplight. Since Dumbledore's death, a large portrait of him hung directly behind the desk. This portrait hides a secret chamber where the Sword of Gryffindor is kept in a glass case. |
